    Wi-Fi Access

    Connecting compatible devices
    without the need of wires.

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is the abbreviated name for wireless fidelity. This means you can access or connect compatible devices to a network via radio waves needing no wires. A typical example is your ability to join the network of a restaurant to go on the internet without having to plug in devices or join any wires. The tower of strength of a wireless network/Wi-Fi is an ACCESS POINT.

The wireless network device that acts as a portal for devices to connect to a local area network is what we call the Access Point. It simply extends the wireless coverage of the network available to allow room for increasing number of users. Devices like computers need to be equipped with wireless network adapters to be able to connect to the access point whilst other compatible devices can connect to the internet via a Wireless LAN (WLAN).

ATT can provide all the above for you at reasonable costs; from equipment to installation. We offer bespoke solutions leaving no room for excesses; saving you money.

Why Access Points Are
Better for Businesses

Access points, improves the efficiency of businesses in various ways. The first advantage is its ability to allow more users to access a single network. An access point can take up at least 50 or more simultaneous connections which is ideal compared to a standard Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) that can only connect 20 users; considering the fact that there are several devices used in business.

The wider range of transmission makes it possible for users to work anywhere in the building.

Advantages of Using Wireless Access Points

Aside the wider range of transmission with increasing number of users;

    • Access points can be installed at any place be it business-grade or not. You would only need to run an Ethernet cable. Recent models of access points are compatible with PoE+ thus ethernet and power cord combined. This means you would not need an outlet or a separate power line near the Access Point.

    • You can manage connected users within your network without compromising network security by using the Captive Portal and Access Control List.

  • The twists and costs of managing multiple Access Points is eliminated by the clustering feature. This feature allows you to have a point of administration for all other installed access points. Anytime changes are made on the single point which can be termed as the Master Access Point, they are pushed to the other APs in the cluster.

Supports

There are quite a number of applications and devices supported by Wi-Fi. Smartphones, smart TVs, desktops, tablets, laptops, consoles, digital cameras, drones and many others can use wi-fi technologies as well as major operating systems.
